ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a qualified mental health psychologist based in Australia. They offer therapy, mental health consultations, and educational support to individuals across the country, working both in person and online.

When they came to us, they had everything a good practice needs. Proper credentials. A genuine desire to help people. A real point of view on mental health that translated well to content.

What they did not have was a single client who had found them online.

They were starting from scratch in a space where trust is everything and visibility is the first filter. If a potential client cannot find you, none of your qualifications matter to them. They simply book someone else.

THE PROBLEM

Being Good at Your Job Means Nothing If Nobody Can Find You

The mental health space in Australia is not a low-competition environment. There are large directory platforms, established private practices, and clinic chains that have been building their online presence for years. For a new practitioner trying to get discovered, the standard advice is to wait, post consistently, and hope the algorithm eventually works in your favor.

That was not good enough.

Here is what makes mental health different from almost every other service vertical when it comes to discovery. A person looking for a psychologist does not search once and book the first result they see. They search multiple times over multiple days across multiple platforms. They watch a video to get a feel for the person. They read forum discussions to understand if the approach feels right. They look for signals of credibility and expertise everywhere before they make the call.

This means ranking on Google alone is not enough. Being active on social media alone is not enough. One platform does not build trust in this category. Showing up everywhere the potential client is looking does.

The problem was not that our client lacked credibility. The problem was that they had no presence on any of the channels their potential clients were using to make their decision.

They were not losing to better psychologists. They were losing because they were invisible.

THE INSIGHT THAT CHANGED THE APPROACH

Most agencies would have built a website, done some basic SEO, and told this client to post on Instagram three times a week. That is the template. It is also why most new practices stay invisible for their first twelve to eighteen months.

We looked at this differently.

The question we asked was not “how do we get this psychologist to rank on Google.” The question was “where is a person who needs a psychologist in Australia actually going to encounter this practice before they book.” And then we built a presence in every single one of those places deliberately, with ranking strategies behind each channel, not just passive posting.

The answer was four places. A website optimised for organic search nationwide. Educational videos appearing directly in Google search results. Ranked posts inside the Reddit communities where mental health conversations actually happen in Australia. And content credible enough to be cited by Google’s AI Overviews, which puts our client’s voice inside the answer Google gives to mental health queries.

Not one channel. All four. At the same time. In thirty days.

THE STRATEGY

Four Channels. One Coordinated Push.

CHANNEL 1: WEBSITE SEO AND LINK BUILDING

We built the technical and content foundations of their website around the specific queries a person seeking mental health support in Australia would actually type. Not broad terms. Specific, intent-driven searches tied to their services and approach.

Then we ran a targeted link building campaign behind their core service and content pages. These were not generic authority links. They were contextually relevant placements that told Google this website belongs in mental health search results across Australia.

The combination of on-page optimisation and link authority meant their pages started gaining real ranking traction within weeks rather than the typical months a new domain sits waiting.

CHANNEL 2: VIDEO RANKING ON GOOGLE SEARCH

Our video ranking package took their educational mental health content and positioned it to rank directly inside Google search results, not just on YouTube’s own algorithm.

This is a distinction that most people miss. There is a difference between a video that exists on YouTube and a video that appears as a result when someone searches a mental health query on Google. The second one puts you in front of people who are actively searching for answers, not just browsing content.

We optimised their YouTube videos and Instagram Reels for search discoverability, structured the metadata and supporting content to trigger Google’s video carousel results, and built the off-platform signals that tell Google these videos are credible references in the mental health space.

The results went further than organic rankings. Three of their educational videos were picked up and cited by Google’s AI Overviews, which means that when someone asks Google a mental health question, Google is now using our client’s content as part of the answer it generates. That level of visibility is not something money can buy directly. It is earned through genuine content authority.

CHANNEL 3: REDDIT POST RANKING

Reddit is where real mental health conversations happen in Australia. Communities like r/auspsychology and r/mentalhealth are filled with people actively discussing symptoms, seeking referrals, asking questions about treatment approaches, and looking for practitioners they can trust. These are not passive audiences. They are people in the middle of making a decision.

We used our Reddit Post Ranking methodology to get our client’s content and profile appearing in these communities in a way that felt native, added genuine value, and ranked on Google search results independently.

This is an important point. When someone searches a mental health query on Google, they do not just see websites and videos. They often see Reddit threads in the results, especially for conversational or research-style searches. Our client was now showing up inside those threads as a credible, knowledgeable voice.

The effect on trust is different from any other channel. Reddit readers are notoriously resistant to anything that feels like promotion. Being present and valuable inside these communities signals authenticity in a way that a polished website simply cannot replicate.

CHANNEL 4: AI OVERVIEW PRESENCE

This one was not a separate tactic. It was the outcome of doing the other three things well.

Google’s AI Overviews pull from content it considers authoritative, accurate, and relevant to the query being asked. When we built strong on-page content, supported it with links, backed it with ranked video content, and established forum credibility, the content became exactly the kind of reference Google’s AI layer looks for.

Three of the educational videos and two supporting content pages earned AI Overview citations within the thirty day period. This means our client is now literally inside the answer Google gives to people asking mental health questions in Australia.

That is not just visibility. That is authority at the highest level the current search landscape offers.

THE RESULTS

What Thirty Days of Coordinated Omnipresence Actually Produced

Before we started, this practice had a website with almost no organic presence, no video discoverability, zero community footprint, and no clients finding them through any digital channel.

Here is where they stand now.

RESULT metric 1: Monthly Search Impressions Before: 210 After: 92,400+

Their pages and content are now appearing in search results for mental health queries across Australia at a scale that was completely nonexistent thirty days ago.

RESULT Metric 2: Monthly Organic Clicks Before: 9 After: 340+

Real people clicking through to their website from organic search. These are not vanity numbers. These are potential clients landing on their services pages.

RESULT Metric 3: Average Search Position Before: 61.4 After: 23.7

From deep in page six territory to consistently appearing on pages two and three, with their top pages hitting page one results.

RESULT Metric 4: Video Views Across Platforms Before: 0 After: 92,400+

Educational mental health videos now reaching an active audience through both platform-native discovery and Google search placement.

RESULT Metric 5: AI Overview Citations Before: 0 After: 3 videos and 2 pages cited

Google is now using their content as a reference source inside AI-generated answers to mental health queries. This is the highest trust signal Google currently gives to any piece of content.

RESULT Metric 6: Reddit Community Presence Before: None After: Active ranked presence in r/auspsychology and r/mentalhealth

Posts and contributions ranking both inside Reddit and on Google search, building community-level credibility that no paid channel can replicate.

RESULT Metric 7: Monthly Inbound Enquiries From Digital Before: 0 After: 34+

The number that actually matters. People reaching out to book, having discovered the practice across one or more of the four channels we built.

RESULT Metric 8: Active Discovery Channels Before: 0 After: 4 (Website, Video, Reddit, AI Overview)

Every channel compounding the others. A potential client can now encounter this practice at every stage of their research journey.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY MEANS FOR A MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE

The Compounding Effect Nobody Talks About

Here is what happens when all four channels are live at the same time.

A person in Australia starts feeling like they need to speak to someone. They search “mental health psychologist Australia” on Google and see our client’s website in the results. They do not click yet. They search again a few days later, this time looking for guidance on anxiety, and they see one of our client’s educational videos sitting in the search results. They click, they watch, they feel like this person understands what they are going through.

They are now curious. They go to Reddit and search for recommendations in r/auspsychology. They see a thread where our client’s perspective has been referenced and found useful by the community. The credibility is no longer just algorithmic. It is social.

Then they ask Google a specific question about treatment approaches. Google’s AI Overview pulls from our client’s content to answer it. At this point, they have encountered the same practice four times across four different contexts. Each touchpoint was relevant. Each one added trust.

That is when they book.

This is the mechanic behind omnipresence and why it works specifically well in categories like mental health where the trust barrier before a first booking is genuinely high. One channel creates awareness. Four channels create conviction.

Our client went from zero digital footprint to being a recognisable, credible voice in Australian mental health conversations across every platform where those conversations happen. And it took thirty days.
